Piers moves hesitantly over to the bar and I watch from a distance as the grommets start ribbing him. His mouth moves rapidly, he looks at them seriously, then squeals with laughter. They scurry away pissed off and embarrassed by something he said.

Lainee and Tyson take the opportunity to sweep into Piers's vacated seat. It’s the first time Piers has left me alone since I finished at the Alpha’s office.

I acknowledge them with a small smile. My fingers tap anxiously on my leg.

“What do you think?” Tyson asks. His tone leaves little room for me to ignore the question.

I can feel his blue eyes zone in on my face. I make a huge effort not to flinch or cower as I raise my eyes to his. His attention is everywhere and even though he’s quiet, he’s intimidating. I drop my eyes from his as I run my finger over Zsa Zsa’s gris-gris.

It’s still a little creepy that I have a piece of King embedded under my skin, but the irony is he’s always been under my skin. I rattle my bracelet loudly as I play with my empty water bottle.

“I think you have a great pack, Alpha.” I answer quietly. I pay special attention to the way I speak, what I look at and how I hold myself, dad’s lessons paying off.

“Do you think you could see yourself as part of it?” He keeps pushing, his eyes refuse to drop from my face.

Are you fucking serious? My she-wolf smirks. “I’m still going to sit on the fence, but I’m not sure I’m in for the free love part.” I reply, offering a short smile. My eyes want to search for Piers, but my she-wolf is confident enough to provide Tyson feedback without the aid of my BFF.

“You know I understand that, but Ty has given my wolf a lot.” Lainee interrupts when I’m about to answer. She has a flirtatious tone to her words, I turn to look at her, but she is staring heatedly at Tyson.

“Must have been scary rising as an Omega,” I mumble at her, fidgeting with my bracelet. I am uncomfortable being in their presence, but at the same time I’m keen for any titbits I can find about Omega wolves.

“Depends where you grew up. I mean take your pack for instance, you wouldn’t want anyone to know that you even had the possibility of having one drop of Omega in your blood.” She focuses on me and even pushes her wolf forward in challenge.

I swear her lip twitches up as she says it, but I hold her stare, hoping she goes on.

“Huh?” I grunt before dropping my eyes quickly, remembering our ploy at me being an ordinary pack wolf.

“Not all packs are like that though. Ty really gave me a place where I could explore the position of Omega. I like to think I bring a lot here too. When I arrived, the Freeman Bay Pack welcomed me with open arms. All of them here. Even the Alpha’s mate.
